Easter in March, say what?

As you may already know, last Sunday was Easter. Remember, last Sunday was March 23rd. Thinking of Easter in March is crazy. I know that it is a nutty thing and that it happens rarely but it just seems weird. Another strange thing is that it snowed in Spokane, WA on the first two days in Spring. The first day we had about an inch and the second was close to three inches but by the end of each day it was all gone. I will be very excited when the weather starts to warm up and hopefully that will be very soon.

So Easter was very quiet for my family. With my grandparents moving to the other side of the state of Washington, the traditions didn't happen because we usually spent Easter and their lake cabin and do an Easter egg hunt in their house or on their property. So we didn't go out to the relaxing lake cabin and there was no Easter egg hunt, I was able to still have fun and thank Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour for dying on the cross and taking away my sins so that I can have forgiveness. That is the true meaning of Easter but don't get me wrong, even as a 22 year old adult, I still love to hunt Easter eggs and eat the chocolate bunnies.

Now I will update you on the NCAA tournament. Lets start with the mens. There have been some surprises and some big upsets and my bracket is doing better well. My Washington State Cougars have made it to the sweet 16 but my Gonzaga Bulldogs were one and done. I haven't been able to watch as much on TV as on my computer at work. Like I do every day, I checked scores in my local newspaper. The first two rounds have been intense and the best is still yet to come. Now the women have just gotten started. I am really excited for the tournament to be in Spokane this weekend. There is one game that is stopping my Maryland team from being here. After tomorrow I might be able to breath but I am very nervous. After loosing in the second round last year just makes my nerves grow more and more as the game is closer. All the number 1 seeds still remain and there haven't been very main upsets. Stand tuned for all the highlights from my time after the weekend.

Well I pray that you all are doing well. Stay real and God bless you in the upcoming week.

March Madness is here!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who know me really well, I am a huge and I mean really huge sports fan. The first thing I read in the morning in the newspaper is the sports page to check to see how all of my teams did the night before. Sports runs in my blood all day and every day.

So for me, you ask why is March so special to me, why do I wait so patiently for it every year? It has nothing to do with St. Patrick's Day or the first day of Spring, but college basketball. In the month of March is the NCAA basketball tournament for both the men and women. This time is amazing because of all the buzzer beating games, guessing who will win the national title to an underdog team upsetting a higher seed. It is an adrenaline rush for about 3 weeks.

For the men's tournament two of our local schools made the big dance, Gonzaga as a 7 seed and Washington State as a 4 seed. In my opinion both teams should go really far and I will be routing for them each and every step of the way. For the women's tournament, we don't have any local teams representing, but some of my favorite teams are going to be there. We do have a local girl who plays for the University of Tennessee who is in the big dance. I can't wait for the rest of the nation to see her as I have watched her play in high school and now in her first year at Tennessee. It will all be so much fun and only three more days until it starts.

In the women's tournament one of the regions is Spokane, WA. Spokane will be hosting two sweet 16 games and one elite 8 game. Now one of my favorite teams is Maryland. They have a great team that has amazing chemistry and is just an all rounded talented team. They have always been a joy to watch. Now I had two teams that I wanted to come to Spokane and they were Tennessee and Maryland. If all works out, one of my favorite teams will be playing in Spokane and that is Maryland. I was very awestruck when I found out, I just couldn't believe it. Now I just can't wait until they get here at the end of the month.

I better go as I still have my brackets to fill and need to go to bed. May God bless you through this upcoming week and I will keep you updated on both the men and women's NCAA basketball tournaments. Until next time, trust God in everything that you do. Remember that he loves you very much. ~T-Money~

Celebration and Change

Today is a day of celebration. Not only am I thankful and grateful for just being alive, but today I finally broke through a huge brick wall that I have been facing and hit a home run over the wall. A lot of you may know, but for those who don't, I have been doing weight watchers for 14 months and tonight I finally hit my goal weight. Now for the next 6 weeks I need to maintain my weight and then I become a lifetime member and with that I don't have to pay anymore. I have been so close for so long that it feels amazing to be able to finally hit my milestone. Now the challenge will be to continue to press on in this journey that I have been on. Before I forget it, my total weight loss is at 56 pounds. I am just so amazed by my progress and accomplishment.

Over the last couple of months, things have changed at the church that I go to. Our wonderful youth pastors stepped down to fulfill a dream of theres to be the full time house parents at one of our local pregnancy houses. So as of March 1st, one of my greatest friends and one of my pastors daughter Miranda Malott and I are going to take over the Youth Group. I look forward to doing this with her as we go down this journey together.

So that is it for now. I hope that you all have a blessed week.

Springing Forward

It is that time of year again. It is time to spring forward into the rest of the year 2008. The first two months of the year are gone and it doesn't feel like it at all. Even though they age gone I am really looking forward to Spring. From my calculation, there are only 13 days left so yeah. With Spring there is so much to look forward to this Spring. Things like being able to do my training sessions outside, the Easter Season, Spokane's annual road race Bloomsday and just the warmer weather. It should be an amazing Spring for me.

This week was kind of crazy for me. With my boss out of the office all week, there was a lot to get done which I think we did really well. I have been working on a couple of projects and am happy to report that most of the filing is done and up to date and all labeled as well. It has taken months but I am proud of the work that I did and accomplished. There is so much more to come that I am excited for and can wait to tackle it.

This weekend is a father daughter weekend with my mom across the country in Washington D.C. on business. I miss her a lot and can't wait for him to come home, but it has been really fun to spend just some quality alone time with my dad. It is these times that I know our relationship gets stronger.

Well that's all I have for now. Stay tuned if breaking news happens then I will update you as soon as possible. Some things could be changing for me soon so I will post again when I know more. Until then, remember that you are worth everything that you do and that God will be by your side as you walk on the path He has for you. So lots of love. ~T-Money~

Spring is almost here, yeah

Springtime is just around the corner and I am so excited. With all of the snow that we have gotten up here in the Inland Northwest I am so ready for Spring. Actually the weather hasn't been to bad lately as it has been in the upper 40's and some lower 50's. I have been able to do some walking and running outside and that has been amazing. It still looks very deceiving when you still have about ten inches of snow on the ground and the neighbors don't have any snow. That is only because of how our house faces the sun. It usually takes a lot longer for our snow to melt. I am hoping that the snow will all be melted by the first day of Spring.

In other news, here goes another week. There is youth group, young adult group, multiple training sessions and trying to find time to relax. There is also another episode of "The Biggest Loser" which I am totally looking forward to it very much. Lastly of course there is work. Hopefully I will continue to work hard and do it all for the glory of God and not for the glory of man.

Well I hope that you all have an amazing week and until next time, have faith in all of your hopes and dreams and listen to the voice of God on how to follow your journey.
