Infiniate Grace, 21 oh my and history made

I know that it has been a long time since I have updated, and I am truly sorry about that but honestly a lot has been going on. Since I last wrote, my dad, brother, grandfather and some friends of mine are all one year older so happy birthday to them. Hopefully everybody got there taxes done on time. Also I continue to work in the real world, co-lead youth group, young adult group, and find time to myself.

Now up to the current time as of last weekend. Last weekend I took my mom to a conference that was being held in the Spokane Arena. It is called Women Of Faith. The speakers are amazing and they bring in excellent musical acts as well and the worship is so refreshing and the presence of God is always present. The best part was that I get to have this experience with my mom. This year I bought the tickets for Mother's Day and she was totally surprised as because of her busy schedule, she thought she bought the tickets and everything. It was really funny to watch her actions and expressions. I just loved being able to spend time with my mom. The theme was infinite grace and I learned so much about God's grace towards us. The surprise of the conference was they will be coming back next year instead of skipping a year. I can't wait.

I also had the privilege of going down to Moscow, ID to help celebrate my cousin's 21st birthday. It was fun to see my aunt and have our grandparents there as well as my parents and a few of her friends. It was lots of fun.

Finally, I reach a goal that I thought would never come. Most of you know that I have been doing Weight Watchers to loose weight for over a year now and today I made history. I finally reached my goal and became a lifetime member. It feels great. I still have about 14 more pounds to loose but to not have to pay anymore feels great. My body feels amazing and I plan on continuing my journey for the rest of my life.

That is all for now. Stay tuned for more. This coming weekend is our Young Adult retreat and I am excited for what the Lord has in store for everyone who is going to come. I will about the weekend after the retreat. May the Lord bless you in this upcoming week as you continue to walk on the path that he has for you.

Weekend of a lifetime

Last weekend, my life was turned upside down. I got to watch some amazing women's college basketball. As you may recall in some of my earlier posts, I got tickets to the women's NCAA tournament in Spokane, WA. One of my favorite teams, the University of Maryland was here playing in the tournament. The other teams were Stanford, Vanderbilt and University of Pittsburgh. Each team had to win two games before coming to Spokane. The first game on Saturday was Maryland vs. Vanderbilt and Maryland's team work won the game for them. The second game was Stanford vs. Pittsburgh and Stanford was just to physical. So on Monday night, Maryland and Stanford met for the Regional Final and for a trip to the Final Four. It was a great game, but Stanford was just way to much for Maryland. The experience was awesome and I wouldn't trade the experience in for the world even though my team, the University of Maryland is now out of the tournament.

One of the many people that I admire is the point guard for the University of Maryland. Her name is Kristi Toliver. She is a junior with lots of passion, love and talent. So I had one mission knowing that her team was going to be here in Spokane, WA and that was to get my picture taken with her. So on Sunday, I found out that the team hotel was our historical Davenport Hotel. I found out because when I walked into the hotel, I saw her teammate Laura Harper going up to her room. So I sat in the lobby waiting for Kristi to walk in so I could get a picture with her. After reading the newspaper that was on the table, I saw another one of Kristi's teammates, Crystal Langhorne walk in. I started praying that if God really wanted me to have my picture taken with Kristi then she would walk in sometime. I gave myself a time limit, but didn't need it. After a total time of about an hour and a half, point guard Kristi Toliver walked into the lobby. She headed towards the elevator and I thought to myself, no guts no glory. so I got up and went over to her and asked for a picture and she said yes. Note the picture below.

So that was my amazing weekend of enjoying women's college basketball and getting my picture taken with Kristi Toliver. Now with the weather warming up I hope you can all enjoy the sunshine that will be headed our way very soon. May God bless you as Spring has now sprung.
